St. Augustine Poetfest 2024

The 3rd annual St. Augustine Poetfest is on April 11-13, 2024.  A celebration of creative writing and reciting, it is St. Johns County’s official recognition of National Poetry Month (April).

Thursday, April 11
Door Open 6:00pm | Showtime 6:30pm | Open Mic 7:30pm
The event kicks off at The Waterworks with Beat Poet Summit … a showcase of Past and Present Beat Poet Laureates followed by community open mic hour. Presented by National Beat Poetry Foundation.

Friday, April 12
11:00am-5:00pm — Flagler College Campus (free). Featuring author presentations, poetry panel discussions, and seminars …with a Keynote Presentation by George Wallace at 3:30pm.

6:30pm-8:30pm — English Department Open Mic at Relampago Coffee Lab. Sign up sheet will be out at 6:00pm. Hosted by the English Department of Flagler College.

Saturday, April 13
11:00am-5:00pm — Flagler College Campus (free). Featuring Bookmobile, DCAZ Zine Zone, Book Bazaar, with author spotlights, publishing panels, and featured poets.
At 2:00pm, there’s a Poetic Outlaw symposium by Ron Whitehead.
And at 3:00pm, is the St. John County Haiku contest award presentation.

A Closing Reception with refreshments and appetizers follows.
