The Front Bottoms bring their ‘You Are Who You Hang Out With Tour’ to The St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Friday, November 3, 2023 with special guest Slothrust.
The New Jersey indie rock duo emerged in the late 2000s with a wildly eclectic blend of pop, rock, and punk influences accompanied by witty lyrics that offer a rapid-fire, slightly surreal perspective on the world around them. The Front Bottoms consists of vocalist/guitarist Brian Sella and drummer Mathew Uychich. They’ve been friends since they were ten years old and started writing songs together when Sella was in sixth grade.
In 2008, The Front Bottoms put out a self-released album, “I Hate My Friends”, and hit the road. The band released their first album titled “The Front Bottoms” in 2011. They followed it up with 2013’s “Talon of the Hawk”. And in 2014 they released a six-song EP of previously unreleased fan favorites titled “Rose”. It served as the first in a series of EPs to be named after the bandmembers’ grandmothers.
Over the next few years, The Front Bottoms continued to raise their profile. They played at Coachella and Austin City Limits as well as touring the U.K. with blink-182 and Frank Turner. In October 2017, they released “Going Grey”, their second LP for Fueled by Ramen. “Ann”, the second EP in the Grandmothers series, appeared the following year. In 2022, the band offered up another collection of fan favorites on “Theresa”, the third installment in their Grandmothers EP series. On August 4, The Front Bottoms are set to release their next new album, “You Are Who You Hang Out With”.
