Join us at Flagler College for the Paper-making and Collage Workshop: Learn the History and Create Your Own Paper.
Date | Time: Saturday, November 4, 2023 | 9:00am-12:00pm
Uncover the fascinating evolution of paper, a timeless medium with a history dating back to 105AD. In this engaging and hands-on workshop you’ll delve into the rich tapestry of paper’s varied uses – from currency to books … and even clothing. Immerse yourself in the art of crafting your very own paper, infusing it with your unique touch and creativity.
By the end of this workshop, you’ll hold in your hands a tangible piece of history and artistry – your own bespoke paper creation.
Collage is the coming together of a variety of materials. A collage can employ paper, paint, sewing, words, and a variety of found materials. We’ll discuss collage and composition as you work on your own paper collage piece in between your paper screen ‘dips’. The pages we will make are 5″x7″.
Student-Supplied Materials:
*Several pieces of stiff cardboard to take home your 5″x7″ pieces of paper home to dry.
*Any materials you might want to include in your paper. Some ideas are: dried flowers, confetti, small pieces of fabric, small words or print images, colored inks, small collage materials, fragrant oils…anything you might want to embed in your piece of wet paper pulp.
*A variety of paper, glue, scissors and other materials that appeal to you to work on your own paper collage
