The St. Augustine Archaeological Association Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 7:00pm is in the Tiffany Room on the Flagler College Campus. A talk will be given by St. Augustine City Archaeologist Andrea White titled, “City Archaeology: A Year in Review”.
Andrea specializes in urban and historical archaeology with over 25 years of experience in the field. She began her career in St. Augustine working with the City’s Archaeology Program and other local organizations. She took her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Florida. And she earned a Master of Arts degree in Anthropology, specializing in historical archaeology, from the College of William and Mary. She also holds a doctorate from the Department of Geography and Anthropology from Louisiana State University.
The talk will highlight some of the latest excavations, lab work, and research conducted by archaeology staff with assists from trained volunteers. Work over the past year also included several grant initiatives, technological advancements, and historic preservation projects.
