Wreath Laying Ceremony Honoring Menendez

The birth of Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles was on February 15, 1519; 502 years ago.  In celebration, the City of St. Augustine will mark the occasion with a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Statue of Pedro Menendez in front of the City Hall on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00am.

The ceremony includes a socially distanced processional in front of the statue of Don Pedro Menendez by a group of reenactors from Historic Florida Militia. There will also be a reading of the proclamation.

This event is free and open to the public.
