Virtual Opera Reading: Penelope Ann’s Revenge

First Coast Opera and A Classic Theatre will hold a reading of the all-new, one-act opera Penelope Ann’s Revenge on August 30, 2020. Live streaming will be available for audiences. It is also open to a limited in-person audience at the Ancient City Baptist Church. Social distancing measures will be in place.

This joint venture, postponed because of COVID-19, is now on track to be performed for First Coast Opera’s 21st Season in 2020-2021.

The 21st Season will conclude in 2021 with two one-act operas performed in collaboration with A Classic Theatre that were postponed due to COVID-19.  Arthur Sullivan’s Cox and Box is paired with a new sequel, the world premiere of Penelope Ann’s Revenge.  Performances are anticipated for May 2021.
