Undercurrents Exhibition & Opening Reception
May 23, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
| Free.Undercurrents Exhibition is on display at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum May 20-June 17, 2022. The exhibition begins with an Opening Reception May 20, 2022 — 5:00pm-8:00pm.
Undercurrents brings together the work of ten international artists that explore the human condition in the midst of climate change. The featured artworks shift from photographs of disrupted, flooded landscapes to films exploring our emotional, physical, and political ties to the natural world.
The artists featured are Jennifer Boles, Georgie Brinkman, Christiana Caro, Laura Gines, Karissa Hahn, Amanda Hodes, Kayla Parker & Stuart Moore, Leah Sandler, and Krista Leigh Steinke. They create work that is cognizant of both the personal and public, historically aware as much as forward-thinking, all together urging us to understand our sense of community as inclusive the natural world.
Undercurrents was organized by students in ART415: Curatorial Studies and is funded in part by the Kenan Family Foundation and Flagler College’s Department of Visual Arts.
Museum Hours:
Monday-Friday 10:00am-4:00pm | Saturday 12:00pm-4:00pm
First Friday ArtWalk: June 3, 2022 — 5:00pm-8:00pm
