Performances of The Diviners, a marvelously theatrical play directed by Beth Lambert, are February 24 – March 19, 2023 at Limelight Theatre.

About the Show:

This is the story of a disturbed adolescent and his friendship with a disenchanted preacher in southern Indiana in the early 1930s. When the boy was young he almost drowned. This trauma, and the loss of his mother in the same accident, has left him deathly afraid of water. When the preacher finally gets the boy in the river to wash him, the townspeople mistake the scene for a baptism. What unfolds is a harrowing event that rocks the town forever.
