Growing Local in St Johns County Farm Tour
Take a half-day farm tour throughout the county to experience local agriculture — Friday, October 21, 2022 — 9:00am – 12:30pm. Bring your shopping totes and be prepared to learn about what your local farmers are producing in the area and where to buy it.
At 9:00am, a 55-passenger bus will leave the St. Johns Agricultural Center in St. Augustine and head to a local organic farm that produces hundreds of acres of snap beans.
Next, the bus will head south to Molasses Junction. There you’ll explore feed grains and locally sourced meats. Then the tour continues with honey, leafy greens, and an abundance of fresh vegetables.
Farmers will be available to answer questions.
Return to the Agricultural Center by 12:30pm where you can shop at the Master Gardener’s plant sale, purchase pumpkins from the 4-H club, and take part in a food preservation workshop.
Cost: $35.00
Tour fee includes the bus ride, bottled water, and some UF/IFAS gear!
