The Flagler College Department of Visual and Performing Arts presents Clare Boothe Luce’s “The Women”. Performances are March 4 – 8, 2020 in Flagler College’s Lewis Auditorium. ‘The Women’ tells a story of struggle and strength for International Women’s Day.
Set in the 1930s, the play tells the story of Mary Haines, a New York City socialite, who discovers her husband is having an affair. Mary must decide whether to feign ignorance and save her marriage or divorce her husband and allow her rival to replace her.
“The issues these women face are timeless,” said Elaina Wahl-Temple, resident artist and director of the show. “The script is full of strong women facing difficult challenges and rising to meet them.”
“It is wonderful timing that our run coincides with International Women’s Day,” said Wahl-Temple. “A fitting tribute to the ladies of the play as well as the playwright herself.”
Presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service.
