Award-winning, fine artist Antwan Ramar will lead a two-day landscape painting workshop at the St. Augustine Art Association on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21, from 10:00am to 5:00pm.  “Atmospheric Landscapes” is the focus of the workshop, which will draw inspiration from master landscape painters, while exploring techniques that approach the subject more freely and expressively.

“Over analysis and a focus on detail often kill the emotional life of a painting,” said Orlando-based Ramar, recipient of the First Place Award in the 2018 St. Augustine Plein Air Paint Out, among others. “Art that captures the imagination of viewers is often because the artist has created a mood and atmosphere that elevate the work beyond the subject itself.”

For beginner and seasoned artists working in oils and acrylics, the workshop will also focus on values, tonal studies, the beauty of edges, compositional design and more. The registration fee is $295 and includes lunch. Students must bring their own painting supplies. Easels will be provided.

Space is limited. To enroll in the workshop, call 904-824-2310 or click on the event website link.
