The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center is hosting an open house commemorating Black History Month on February 17, 2019 and you are invited!  There will be a free tour and history talk with Dr. Dorothy Israel, psychologist, historian, and writer.  She’ll speak about the information found in the archives of African-American history and culture. Dr. Israel is a long-term member of the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center Board of Directors as well as a member of the vision committee of the Fort Mose Historical Society.

During the open house, visitors will also be able to tour the museum to learn about the African-American history that helped shape the St. Augustine community. Learn about the stories of more than 450 years of contributions of African-Americans in Northeast Florida through exhibits that shine a light on the civil rights struggles and achievements as well as the role of businesses, churches, educators and other community groups in the development of Lincolnville.

Come see what’s new.  Bring your family and friends!  Bring photos or memorabilia to share.
