National Public Lands Day: “Take Back Our Woods” Clean Up
Join hundreds of thousands of people at sites throughout the country and take part in National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 29, 2019. The “Take Back Our Woods” Clean Up event is hosted by Anastasia State Park and Friends of Anastasia.
Hike through the Park picking up trash to keep our environment beautiful and safe for guests and wildlife! Discover new areas of the park as we focus on more wooded areas that need the extra attention.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and any other items that will make your hike more enjoyable. If you have your own set of gloves or 5-gallon bucket, please bring them so we can reduce our own waste. Rubber gloves and trash bags will still be provided.
Park entry is free for participating volunteers! After the cleanup, you can enjoy a lunch at Island Beach Grill or relax in the park and admire your hard work.
Please meet at Anastasia Watersports where you will sign-in to participate in the program. RSVP on the Facebook event page. For more information, click on the event website link or contact the park at 904-461-2033.
