The historic reenactment community will be holding a Living History Saunter down St. George Street and the historic area in St. Augustine. The historically clad interpreters speak with visitors and residents about Saint Augustine’s history dating back to its founding in 1565.
Participants can wear historically accurate clothing depicting Saint Augustine’s history from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, commonly know as it’s Colonial Period. Historical accurate is the key. It allows the historical interpreters to explain and show visitors to our town the difference between fact and fiction.
Participants meet near the Spanish Bakery & Cafe at 5:30pm. Sauntering is between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. Photographs and questions are encouraged.
Free and open to the public. The event is held through a partnership between the Historic Florida Militia, the City of Saint Augustine and the St John’s Cultural Council.
The event is weather permitting.
