Lightner Museum Speaker Series: American Brilliant Cut Glass
Enlightened Artist, Pepi Herrmann, and Lightner Museum Educator, Alison Schaeffler-Murphy, share the marvels of American Brilliant Cut Glass.
Join Florida Humanities and the Lightner Museum for the grand opening of their new cut glass exhibition gallery with a special visit by one of the United States’ most recognized contemporary master crystal cutters, Pepi Herrmann.
Lightner Museum educator, Alison Schaeffler-Murphy, will begin by discussing the historical prominence of the Gilded Age’s Brilliant Period from 1890 – 1915. Artisan Pepi Herrmann will share his fascination with the lost art form explaining the techniques in creating cut glass.
After the presentation, guests will join Herrmann and Schaeffler-Murphy for an exclusive walk through of the newly opened Brilliant Cut Glass Gallery.
