French Impressionism in Art and Music
The St. Augustine Art Association and the St. Augustine Music Festival Chamber Orchestra come together on December 6, 2020 to uplift the spirits of the community with an amazing art exhibit and concert celebrating the era of Impressionism.
The Impressionist style was revolutionary for its time, as the French Impressionist painters created art that showed the interplay between light and color. The music conveyed the moods and emotions aroused by the subject rather than hearing detailed tone.
