Evenings at Whitney Lecture is a monthly public lecture series that includes presentations on current science topics, as well as ongoing research programs at the lab. The speakers are recognized experts in their fields who welcome questions and discussion.

As part of Whitney’s World Sea Turtle Week events, Whitney Laboratory will show the movie, “A Plastic Ocean”. The award-winning documentary investigates plastic waste’s environmental impacts in the world’s oceans. At the conclusion of the showing, a panel of experts will share their thoughts and takeaways and take questions and answers from the audience.

The movie showing was made possible by Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP and the U.S. Green Building Council Florida.

This Evenings at Whitney will have an earlier start time of 6:00pm. Registration or reservations are not needed. Parking is also free. For more information, please call 904-461-4000.
