Courageous Women of Fort Mose – Theatrical Production, Book Signing & Art Exhibit

Come to The Waterworks on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2:30pm for the Courageous Women of Fort Mose.  Fort Mose Historic State Park partners with the Fort Mose Historical Society to bring you back in time to the harrowing moments when a decision to seek freedom over chains occurred.

Dr. Dorothy Israel & Ms. Twila Hudson, along with the Courageous Women of Fort Mose, will tell the story of how the first leg of the Underground Railroad led to St. Augustine through re-enactment in a theatrical setting.

Dr. Deeh Israel, the Women of Mose and Dr. Jane Mahoney will unveil and sign their new book, “The Courageous Women of Mose: All for Freedom“.

There will also be an exhibit/sale of Local Artists whose art reflects the Fort Mose Story and the Freedom Seekers experience.

Door Open 2:00pm | Performance 2:30pm

Free & Open to the public! First come/space available basis.
