Carmina Burana Concert

The St. Augustine Community Chorus is ending their 70th Anniversary Season with a bang, singing one of the greatest pieces of music of the 20th century – the bold, strong Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.   Carmina, a staple of the choral repertoire, is full of energy, with beautiful and some familiar melodies.  Created in 1936 by Orff, its’ popularity soared and continues today.  This version is accompanied by two pianos and lots of percussion. The chorus will be collaborating with the Bel Canto Singers of Daytona, Dr. David J Redman, Artistic Director.

The concert, held as part of the Romanza Festivale of the Arts, will take place on Saturday, May 11th at Kirk Auditorium (Florida School for the Deaf and Blind).
