Open Auditions for The Music Man are Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00am at the Limelight Theatre. Callbacks are Monday, July 31 starting at 6:00pm.
About the Musical:
When Harold Hill, a traveling con man, arrives in River City, he convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him. His intention is to flee as soon as he receives the money. Librarian Marian Paroo suspects Harold is a fraud but holds her tongue since her moody brother, Winthrop, is excited about the band. As Harold begins to develop feelings for Marian, he faces a difficult decision about skipping town.
Music and lyrics by Meredith Willson; based on a story by Willson and Franklin Laceyon.
Audition Details:
11:00am-12:00pm — Ages 5 to 12
12:30pm- 3:00pm — Ages 13 and older (pre-registered)
3:00pm- 4:00pm — Open Auditions
* Prepare two minutes of a musical theatre song in the style of The Music Man as well as a one minute monologue.
* Bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
* No karaoke tracks or acapella auditions will be seen.
