Alligator Farm Virtual Backyard Fieldtrip
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm is hosting a virtual backyard fieldtrip on Friday, May 1 and 8, 2020 at 9:00am.
With Sea Turtle nesting season starting on May 1, special guest Naturalist Kelly Ussia from St. John’s County Parks & Recreation Department will be on hand. He’ll tell us all about sea turtles and how we can help them!
May 8 is about Carnivorous Plants. What makes a plant carnivorous? A variety of these specialized plants have been known to eat insects, lizards, and even small mammals! Our Zoo Director, John Brueggen, will be our special guest this week to tell us all about carnivorous plants.
Friday at 12pm EST, we’ll be premiering our videos on Facebook, and be available for questions and comments. We’ll also be posting our videos to our YouTube channel.
Each week, we’ll be sharing a new topic about the world around us; and we’ll share photos, videos, and activities.
Our aim is to engage our community in learning more about the world around them, and provide parents and teachers with activities for the kids.
