Please Note:  The screening of Flee has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date….thanks to the inclement weather.

The St. Augustine Film Society is presenting two showings of the award-winning, animated Documentary Film “Flee”.  Directed by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, the film is an international co-production with Denmark, France, Norway, and Sweden.  Nominated for 3 Academy Awards in 2022: Best Documentary Feature, Best Animated Feature, and Best International Film.

It follows the story of a man under the alias Amin Nawabi, who shares his hidden past of fleeing his home country of Afghanistan to Denmark for the first time. When he arrived, he was an unaccompanied minor. Over 20 years later, the secret he’s been hiding threatens to ruin the life he’s build for himself as a successful academic.

Riz Ahmed and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau serve as executive producers and narrators for the English-language dub version.
