When it comes to entertainment, you haven't truly enjoyed St. Augustine until you've sampled the local music scene. Nearly every pub and restaurant in the St. Augustine area from Vilano Beach down into Flagler County features a host of talented artists throughout the week. I hope you're all having a great week, and that everyone survived last weekend's monsoon-like weather! I am glad that there is far nicer as St. Augustine kicks off Romanza Festivale! Beginning today and over the next 19 days, Romanza will present more than 100 music, art and cultural events at venues all over St. Augustine. The list is too large to include here, but please visit www.RomanzaFestivale.com for a full schedule of events.
I would like to let you know that the first concert of the season at the St. Augustine Sculpture Garden will be held in conjunction with Romanza Festivale. Maja Gitana, featuring Marianne Lerbs and Janine Newfield, will perform on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 12th, from 4-6 p.m. at the Sculpture Garden. If you have not had an opportunity to attend a concert in this beautiful setting, please consider joining us on Sunday - bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating, and a picnic or cooler if you like. Complimentary wine will be served at this performance, courtesy of LisaMack Productions, so come on out and drink a toast to wonderful live music, on me!
There are also performances by QuinTango, The Duet Connection, CRS, Navy Band Southeast Pride, Mario Luis Latin Jazz Band, Ancient City Slickers, Fermin Spanish Guitar Band, The Dave Bennett Quartet Benny Goodman Tribute, and many many more throughout the week, as well as parades, art exhibits, street fairs, and many other cultural events to enjoy all over town.
