St. Augustine Music Festival is joining in on the Christmas spirit with “Voices of Christmas Past”, a free concert for the community. The concert will feature harpsichordist Webb Wiggins and Stetson Baroque, a chamber ensemble of vocalists and cello. Music from around the world with roots in the past will include a variety of selections from 15th-century France, traditional Burgundian carols, 16th-century English favorites and more.
Wiggins, recognized for his innovative and musical continuo realizations, has performed and recorded with many ensembles throughout the US. He was on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory and the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music for more than 30 years. His concerts, classes, and coachings have also taken him to Ecuador, New Zealand and Shanghai.
St. Cyprian’s is an intimate space, so seating is limited. Parking is available. The concert will last about one hour, with no intermission. A courtyard reception will follow, weather permitting.
