Legendary Irish performers, The Chieftains, will be live in concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre with a special appearance by the Jacksonville Symphony. Six-time GRAMMY award winners, The Chieftains have been highly recognized for reinventing traditional Irish music on a contemporary and international scale. Formed in Ireland in 1962 by Paddy Moloney, one of the top traditional folk musicians in Ireland and around the world, The Chieftains ability to transcend musical boundaries and to blend tradition with modern music, has notably hailed then as one of the most renowned and revered musical groups to this day.
The Jacksonville Symphony, founded in 1949, is a leading cultural establishment in northeast Florida. With every note played and sung, the Symphony strives to perform stimulating music in a variety of different styles and settings to inspire its’ community.
