Join us for the 276th Anniversary of the Battle of Bloody Mose. This event recreates the days leading up to and including the 1740 Battle of Bloody Mose. Watch the Spanish and British troops along with Scottish Highlanders and Yamassee and Muskogee Creek warriors battle over the remnants of Fort Mose at 2:00pm and 6:00 pm.
Activities throughout the day will include 1740 military drills, 18th century political debates, Yamassee Indian demonstrations, children’s activities, food, vendors, and demonstrations of 18th century life.
Fort Mose Historic State Park partners with Florida Living History, The Florida Humanities Council and The Fort Mose Historical Society to produce this event. The U.S. National Park Service has named the annual Battle of Bloody Mose heritage Event as a Member Program of the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.
