The St. Johns County Public Library System and the St. Augustine Amphitheatre invite the community to the St. Johns Reads Hootenanny, celebrating the 12th year of St. Johns Reads, the community-wide reading project.
The St. Johns Reads Hootenanny will feature music by The Wobbly Toms and a showing of the 2010 film “True Grit” based on the classic western novel by Charles Portis. First published in 1968 as a serial in the Saturday Evening Post, and made into the first of two film versions the following year, “True Grit” is one of a few westerns told from a woman’s perspective.
Free and open to the public with free parking. Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets for warmth and comfort and take advantage of the refreshments being sold at the Amphitheatre.
Gates open at 4pm / Music begins at 4:45pm / Movie starts at 5:45pm
