Thank you for your patience and understanding in the rescheduling process of the 2017 St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival due to Hurricane Irma. We are pleased to announce that the new dates for this year’s festival are October 20-22. Besides the dates, everything else will remain the same – events, location and times. For those who purchased tickets, you will receive an email within the next few days with new tickets showing the rescheduled date. The tickets you received through email with the original festival dates will also provide you entrance into those festival events on the new dates.
The 6th Annual St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival is pleased to announce that all of the 2017 festival events will take place at the St. Augustine Shipyard, 117 Dockside Drive. The shipyard, a co-presenting sponsor of the festival, offers breathtaking views of the San Sebastian River with a backdrop of historic downtown St. Augustine, the perfect venue for enjoying fine Spanish wine.
The mission of the festival is to connect St. Augustine to our city’s Spanish history through a series of special events that feature Spanish wine, cuisine and culture. The festival serves to raise money for local charities, foster international economic development, and enrich the quality of life in our community. Proceeds from this years’ festival will benefit tag! Children’s Museum of St. Augustine, The St. Augustine Record Empty Stocking Fund, and K-9s United.
Schedule of Events
Friday, October 20, 2017 – Cava Reception and Dinner — 6:00pm-10:00pm
Kick off the festival with this four-course dinner that is paired with a Spanish wine. Then, top off the evening with fireworks over the San Sebastian River
Saturday, October 21, 2017 – Cochinillo Asado — 5:00pm-9:00pm
Enjoy suckling pigs pit roasted in the Spanish tradition serverd with Spanish wine and beer. K-9s United will be on hand to present a demonstration. Meet local law enforcement officers and their K-9s.
Saturday, October 21, 2017 – Team Batalla de Vino — 6:30pm-6:45pm
This wine fight is a 5-person team competition with each team’s objective to protect their king or queen while trying to get the other teams’ kings and queens as red as possible. The team with the whitest king or queen wins!
Saturday, October 21, 2017 – Grand Batalla de Vino — 6:45pm-7:00pm
Always great fun, participants dressed in white attempt to decorate friends and strangers with as much red wine as possible.
Sunday, October 22, 2017 – Grand Tasting — 2:00pm-5:00pm
The festival wraps up with more than 100 Spanish wines available to sample accompanied by tasty Spanish inspired hors d’oveuvres.
