Join the St. Augustine Archaeological Association in welcoming Lori Collins, co-Director of the Alliance for Integrated Spatial Technologies working to preserve and protect the world’s cultural and natural heritage. Entitled “Heritage at Risk: How 3D and imaging tools are helping managers and researchers better preserve, protect, and interpret the Castillo de San Marcos”, she’ll discuss her work using 3D imagaing tools for preservation at the Castillo de San Marcos.
The data will be used to monitor and analyze change and to assist in planning and management of the Castillo and Fort Matanzas, important masonry structures. The results will also help to create interactive tourism and learning opportunities for the public, such as 3D models and virtual reality tours.
The talk will be in the Flagler Room at Flagler College.
