Come on out to the Friends of Washington Oaks monthly plant sale held the second Saturday of each month! Plant sales feature a wonderful selection of flowers, plants, and bushes along with the unusual and hard to find plants for your home, patio, and garden. You may find Florida Natives among the selections on the plant benches. A portion of the plants were propagated and grown in the park and all the proceeds from the sale directly go back to benefit the park.
Join us at 11:00am for our Plant Chat / Walk, “A Short History of Camellias”. Although they originated in China, it has become a symbol of the South in the U.S., and a favorite in Louise Young’s gardens at Washington Oaks! A walk in the garden will follow a brief presentation on the history and culture of these lovely winter-flowering trees and shrubs.
Plant Bench volunteers now have their own dedicated phone line at the park. Please leave a voice message at 386-302-5590. Volunteers are not at the park daily. Please be patient as your call will be responded to as soon as possible.
Regular park entrance fee of $5 per vehicle, up to eight people; $4 per vehicle for single occupancy or $2 per person on bicycle applies.
