Come on out to the Friends of Washington Oaks monthly plant sale held the second Saturday of each month! Plant sales feature a wonderful selection of flowers, plants, and bushes along with the unusual and hard to find plants for your home, patio, and garden. You may find Florida Natives among the selections on the plant benches. A portion of the plants were propagated and grown in the park and all the proceeds from the sale directly go back to benefit the park.
During this months’ Plant Sale, there will be a presentation at 11am highlighting “Culinary & Medicinal Uses of Herbs” held by Dora Baker, owner of Maggie’s Herb Farm. “Herbs in the Kitchen” will follow at 12pm held by Ruth Micieli. She’ll prepare a three-course meal demonstrating ways herbs can be included in our daily recipe choices. Tastings and recipes will be provided. Herbs and herb-themed baked goods will be on sale!
Beginning at 1pm, a Garden Tour will be led by one of the Park Rangers. It provides a great opportunity to learn about the uniqueness of the Gardens and the history of the Park.
Regular park entrance fee of $5 per vehicle, up to eight people; $4 per vehicle for single occupancy or $2 per person on bicycle applies.
