The Public Works Connects Us event is the kick-off for National Public Works Week, May 21-27. The community celebration is free and the public in encouraged to attend. Food, music, and lots of information on city services will be provided by the Public Works Department.
There will be a Climb Aboard and Touch-A-Truck area offering an up-close look at much of the city’s construction and specialized equipment as well as service vehicles from street sweepers to garbage trucks.
The event is also an opportunity to properly dispose of some of those recyclable items that are sometimes a challenge, such as small electronics, tires (limit four) and used cooking oil. A document shredding service will also be available (limit three boxes per person). Please note that the recycling services are available only to city residents and that the drop-off entrance is on 26 Pellicer Lane.
Stop by! Take advantage of the recycling services! Ask questions about city services and learn how Public Works Connects Us all every day. For information, please call the Public Works Department at 904-825-1040.
