The nostalgia-fueled MY2K Tour featuring 98 Degrees with guests O-Town, Dream, and Ryan Cabrera will perform at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The tour is 98 Degrees first in three years.
Pegged as one of the original boy bands of the late 1990’s and known for their authentic vocal harmonizing, GRAMMY-nominated 98 Degrees were never just an ordinary pop group. Their breakthrough album “98 and Rising” was released in 1998 reaching platinum 4X and yielding hit singles Because of You”, “I Do”, and “The Hardest Thing”. By 2002, the band had sold a staggering 10 million albums and the release of “The Collection”, a compilation spanning the group’s impressive five-year career, helped solidify their place as one of music’s most influential pop bands.
Boy band O-Town were assembled on the first season of Making the Band in 2000. Their previously released #1 singles are “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and they achieved platinum success with their debut album. They took a break in 2003 and regrouped in 2013 as a quartet.
Late-’90s sensations girl group Dream took a break in 2003 after finding major success with “He Loves U Not” in 2000. The multi-platinum girl group represents a generation of both men and women who grew up during arguably the best time in the “pop music” culture. Their music video for the single “This Is Me” hit #1 on MTV’s TRL, forcing MTV to retire their video and become the first girl group retired from TRL’s video playlist.
Ryan Cabrera has been making music consistently since releasing his 2004 debut “Take It All Away”, which went double-platinum. This platinum-selling singer/songwriter is the architect behind smashes such as “On the Way Down”, “True”, and “Shine On” as well as albums including 2004’s “Take it All Away”, which hit #8 on the Billboard Top 200, “You Stand Watching” (2005), and “The Moon Underwater” (2008).
