Come join us for a free guided hike to identify the many puzzling objects and critters that wash ashore amidst the dying seaweeds. Learn to read notes left by tides on the Marineland beach. You don’t have to find a crusty old bottle with a cryptic message washed ashore to discover surprising mysteries along the beach. Not if you walk with a seasoned guide who understands secrets between land and sea, who knows where the restless sand came from, and where it’s going in its endless refusal to just stay put. Learn about rocks, birds, shells and the humble gopher tortoise who digs deep burrows for a dwelling and comes out to dine on the prickly-pear cacti along the dunes. Bring your camera for possible sightings.
