On the first Wednesday of the month, join Lightner Museum Curator Barry Myers for a themed, interactive tour designed to give participants an opportunity to see acquisitions in operation rather than just as static displays. The tour offers guests an intimate encounter with a select few of the Lightner’s eclectic relics.
This months’ tour, The Evolution of the Lightner Museum Part III, is a continuation from October’s topic. The purpose of the tour is to educate visitors on the many transformations the Lightner Museum has undergone from the time of the buildings formation as the Alcazar Hotel built in 1888 by Henry Flagler to its current evolution as the Lightner Museum. November’s tour will highlight the vast transformations that have taken place from the 1980’s to its most current restoration efforts and what is planned for the future.
The tour, which is included in admission, will begin in the front lobby of the Museum at 10am. Admission is free for St. Johns County residents with valid ID. Donations are appreciated and accepted after the tour.
