On the first Wednesday of the month, join the Lightner Museum curator for a themed, interactive tour designed to give participants an opportunity to see acquisitions in operation rather than just as static displays. The tour, which is included in admission, takes place at 10 a.m. on the second floor of Lightner Museum. No Curator Tour will be given during the months of June, July, or August.
This month’s tour is titled “Serving up Elegance at Lightner Museum” and focuses on the etiquette of find dining and entertainment. Selected pieces demonstrating the elaborate customs of setting a table and the appropriate manners expected will be on display. Guests will be able to see how particular dining trends, such as those of the French court of Louis XV, continue to have a place in modern customs with such people as Martha Stewart.
Regular admission is $10 adults; $6 for active duty military; $5 college student and youth ages 12-18; under 12 are free.
