King of Spain’s Public Address to St. Augustine

The City of St. Augustine welcomes their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain who will be arriving today to recognize St. Augustine’s 450th Commemoration through a series of ceremonies and events.  The opportunity for the public to see Their Majesties during this visit is will be when King Felipe VI offers a public address to the people of St. Augustine from the King’s Balcony at approximately noon (12:00pm).

Those wishing to hear the address should be in the Plaza de la Constitución by 11:45am.  Those wishing to view the speech should park at the Historic Downtown Parking Facility — on street parking will be restricted much of Friday!

Several museums will have limited hours during the day.  The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and its parking lot, the Lightner Museum, and Government House will be closed to the public until approximately 1:00pm.
