One of the most respected artists working the Americana, Bluegrass and Country music communities today, Jim Lauderdale & His Band, will be performing with guest Canary in the Coalmine. He is a multiple GRAMMY and Americana Music Association Award-winning musician.
As a master songwriter, Lauderdale has had his work recorded by artists such as Patty Loveless, Shelby Lynne, Solomon Burke, The Dixie Chicks and George Strait, who has had numerous hits with Lauderdale’s songs. Lauderdale’s music has been featured regularly on the ABC hit show Nashville, and he has several tracks on the soundtrack of the successful film Pure Country.
Canary in the Coalmine is an Americana Folk band fronted by songwriters Jessica Pounds and Sandy Wicker. A haunting quality underscores striking vocal harmonies that provide a focal point for the band’s Appalachian folk and alt country influences. They are always a major highlight at Suwannee Springfest and Magnolia Festival every year.
