The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, one of Irsrael’s Premier Orchestras, will be performing at the Lewis Auditorium – Flagler College. The Orchestra was founded in the late 1930s as the Palestine Broadcasting Service Orchestra. It became the national radio orchestra and was known as the “Kol Israel Orchestra” in 1948 and in the 1970s, expanded to the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
The Orchestra maintains a varied repertoire, ranging from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, and extending to contemporary composers. Conductor and cellist, Dmitry Yablonsky, was born in Moscow. As a cellist, he has played all over the world; as conductor, he has collaborated with many famous orchestras.
Admission — $40.00; $5.00 for students with ID. The box office opens one hour prior to the start of the performance.
