Join Park Rangers at Fort Matanzas for a guided nature and history walk along the marsh and shoreline. Learn about the many plants and animals as a ranger guides you along the Matanzas River. The walk concludes across from the Fort where visitors learn about the fort’s history and watch the fort’s cannons fire. Be sure to bring binoculars!
Six walks are offered: 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, & 3:00pm. Each walk last about 30 minutes and begins at the Fort Matanzas Visitor Center.
Due to extensive damage from Hurricane Matthew the ferry dock and boat service to Fort Matanzas remains closed until further notice. The park expects to resume service this summer.
