During the Friends of Library Lecture Series for May, Ed Trester will give a lecture entitled “Role of the Merchant Marine”.  A former Merchant Marine, Maritime Historian, and co-author of Torpedoed for Life, Ed will lecture on the Merchant Marines in World War II and the history of the Liberty Ships. Most people are unaware what the Merchant Marines do, let alone the important role they played in WWII.
