Come join us as we celebrate the National Park’s Centennial! The National Park Service turns 100 in August and is offering free admission August 25th – 28th to the Castillo de San Marcos as well as all the National Parks.
In addition, on August 27th the Castillo will host a special concert by the St. Augustine Youth Chorus. Under the direction of Kerry Fradley and Kathy Vanderburg, the St. Augustine Youth Chorus, 30 singers from around the St. Augustine and St. Johns County area, will perform several patriotic songs, including the Children’s Earth Anthem. Proposed by Louise Phillips of Washington, D.C., and composed by Charles Eversole, Artistic Director of the Singing Angels, the Children’s Earth Anthem is designed to be a nation-wide celebration of the National Park Service Centennial with youth performing the song throughout the country.
There will be three, 20 minute performances starting at 10:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm inside the courtyard of the fort. Please plan on arriving 20-30 minutes before the start time to allow for parking.
