Old Florida Museum is pleased to announce the Eleventh Florida Spring Home School Experience on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Registration starts at 9:00 and the first tour leaves at 9:30 sharp. Each tour will be approximately 40 minutes. There is also a 60-minute lunch break so guests should plan to spend the day to visit the entire museum complex. This interactive experience is designed to expose students to daily living activities of the Timucua Indians, early Spanish settlers, exploration on the high seas and Florida Pioneer children, as well as the field of archaeology.
The cost is $19.95 per person for ages three and up at the door. If you call and pay prior to February 1, 2017, you will receive the discounted price of $17.95 per person. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. (*Please note: coupons or tickets purchased or received from outside retailers are for our General Public tour only and may not be used for the Home School Experience. ) These are guided educational tours and are not to be confused with the General Public admission to the museum which is primarily “edutainment” in the Indian and Spanish areas only. The regular price for these tours for school children and adults is approximately $27.95 per person.
Costumed Guides will provide history and instruction in the use of tools and games for each historical time period. Participants will also complete a take-home project in each program area. Old Florida Museum includes a Timucuan Indian council house and chief’s hut, a Spanish wattle and daub house, a Florida Pioneer one-room schoolhouse, 70’ Spanish Caravel Sailing Ship replica and a mock archaeological dig. The day will start with tours at 9 a.m. During the 45-minute lunch period (11:15 to 12:00) you will have access to our outdoor covered and open-air picnic areas.
You may bring bagged lunches or arrange to schedule lunch from any of the following vendors if you wish: Honey Baked Ham, Five Star Pizza, Hungry Howies, Chick Fil-A, Subway.
