Start the New Year off right with a First Day Hike & Coastal Clean Up. Enjoy your surroundings, get your exercise, and help clean up the beach at the same time. Anastasia State Park includes over four miles of beach that are home to a wide variety of wildlife. Recently there’s been more trash than normal on our beach due to Hurricane Irma and other strong storms in the area and all the help we can get is needed to clean it up.
Meet at the beach parking lot near Island Beach Grill where you will sign-in to participate in the program. There will be transportation down the beach to reach the more remote areas as well as rangers on patrol to collect trash bags and supply water.
Dress for the weather and bring sunscreen, bug spray, and any other items that will make your hike more enjoyable. After the hike you can enjoy a lunch at Island Beach Grill or relax on the beach and admire your hard work.
Park entry is free for participating volunteers.
