Organized by the College’s Deaf Awareness Club, April 12 is Deaf Awareness Day at Flagler College. This free event provides an opportunity for the College and the St. Augustine community to learn more about the deaf and hard-of-hearing culture.
10:00am – Table open for games, prizes and information. Learn basic sign language and play charades.
11:30am – Free hotdogs in the college’s dining hall catered by D-Hall
12:00pm – Spirit Club will perform
2:00pm – The Dance Troupe from the FL Deaf & Blind School will perform.
There will also be a jewelry sale with the proceeds donated to the college’s partnering school in Mexico, San Miguel School for Special Education. Information will be available on the new master’s Deaf Education program.
