This event, which had been rescheduled for the weekend of October 14th through 16th due to Hurricane Matthew, has now been postponed. We’ll be making a decision in the near future as to whether or not we have it this year. Thank you for your patience and support!
The 7th Annual Fiesta de Aviles starts with local art galleries on Aviles Street participating in First Friday Art Walk from 5pm – 9pm. On Saturday, enjoy live music and dancing, art and food plus a twist on the Spanish custom where locals and visitors are chased by special guests in “bull” costumes in a sprint down historic Aviles Street. The event is based on the centuries old Running of the Bulls event in Pamplona, Spain. The Running of the Bulls begins at 3pm with with a children’s race at 3pm and the adult race at 3:30pm. Sunday, at 2pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, will feature “A Walk Across Spain; My Way on the Camino de Santioago” narrative featuring local photographer/journalist Rick McAllister.
