On the first Saturday of the month from 9:00am-11:30am, a Militia Muster & Training will be held at Fort Mose.  Come visit and be transported back to the 18th Century.  Watch as members of the Fort Mose Militia practice their firing drills using historic weapons and teach new members how to safely fire their weapons.   Demonstrations on historic weapons will be given including musket firing drills. The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM Research Reserve) is a proud participant of the Blue Star Museums Program, which offers free admission to active-duty military personnel, including National Guard and Reserve and their families, from May 28 until September 3, 2017.  This admission is to the Reserve's Exhibit Hall which is open daily. Rangers and volunteers demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the colonial Spanish soldier of 1740s St. Augustine at the Castillo de San Marcos. This event is weekly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and presented several times during the day on the NorthEast Gun Deck.
