Every year The Florida Heritage Book  Festival showcases Florida's rich and diverse literary legacy.  The annual event includes a Writers Conference on September 22nd at the St. Johns County Convention Center at World Golf Village from 9:00am-4:30pm and a Book Festival on September 23, 2017 at Flagler College Ringhaver Student Center.  Events on the 23rd are free. The Villa Zorayda Museum is hosting a special art exhibit of the works of Steve Anderson.  He is unique among the city's artists in that he is visually impaired and is constantly presented with an obstacle-filled creative path.  Diagnosed with the genetic, degenerative eye disease retinitis pigmentosa and glaucoma in late 2008, the prognosis left him heartbroken.  He soon found new purpose and created a unique style that has never been seen before.
