Artist Paul Rogers teamed with legendary jazz musician Wynton Marsalis to create the book Jazz ABZ, which highlights through poetry jazz greats from A (Louis Armstrong) to Z (Dizzy Gillespie). Each portrait and poem is evocative of the particular musician’s sound, and each work of art alludes to song titles, artifacts, and other markers of the time, including artistic references to well-known artists who were particularly inspired by jazz music. This exhibit will also include selected poems by Wynton Marsalis and is a must-see for jazz fans and poets of all ages.

Join well known artist Sydney McKenna as she guides participants through a step by step hands on process on how to complete a landscape painting in a day. The Friends of Washington Oaks will hold their monthly plant sale on the Second Saturday, July 10th, from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.
Second Saturday Plant Sales always feature plants that are unusual and hard to find. Choose from a large selection of bromeliads, butterfly plants, cactus, ferns, natives, pitcher plants, succulents and ti plants. Many of the plants were propagated and grown in the park by volunteers. All proceeds benefit the park for enhancement of current and new facilities.

Audience participation is encouraged at this live performance, but please no props from home - prop packages will be made available prior to the show. The horror begins at 7:30 p.m. both nights.
