I hope everyone is having a terrific week! There is a lot going on in the wonderful world of music this weekend and in the coming week, as usual. There are also a couple of special events I want to let you know about coming up next week, so you can save the dates:
Next Sunday, August 1st, Gypsy Cab Comedy Club will host a benefit concert on behalf of blues artist Vince Jeffs, who continues to fight avery difficult battle with cancer. The program will feature performances by The House Cats, Charlie Robertson, and Lis & Lon Williamson, as well as great Gypsy food. The event will run from 6-10 p.m. For more information, or to make a donation to Vince, please visit www.helpvince.org,
The following Saturday, August 7th, the Molasses Junction Country Store will host a benefit event in honor of Shae Burchfield, the young lady who was killed on July 8th when her dirt bike was hit by a truck on Wildwood Drive. The event will begin at 1 p.m., and feature a number of bands, including The Restless Kind, Red River Band, Ancient City Outlaws, and more. Proceeds will help the Burchfield family with the funeral expenses.
Also, please mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 15th, for a very special cultural event to benefit Vince Jeffs. Details will follow soon.
